Iran urban filmfest reveals int’l titles

Latest edition of Urban International Film Festival in Iran unveils 25 films as international participating titles.

According to PR office for the festival quoted by local media on Friday, nine feature-length titles, and 13 shorts will compete at the fest, with 3 others to be featured at the special international section.

The films includes such titles as Japanese director Natsuki Seta’s ‘Parks’ and ‘Awakening City’ by Brazil helmer Fernando Ramos.

Organized by the Art and Culture Organization of Tehran Municipality, the festival’s film categories include Iranian Cinema (competition), International Cinema (competition) and Neighborhood section.

The International Urban Film Festival’s main focus is on the significance of city and urbanism in human life. The event also seeks to promote empathy and moral values in cinematic works and offers a platform for exchange of ideas and experiences among the cities of the world.

The 6th Urban Film Festival is slated to run from July 31 to August 5, 2017.
